i just thought about something today.
the jw's logic or lack there of.. when you are in the "truth" and bad things happen.. satan is persucuting you.
and when good thing happen to you it's jah's blessing.. when you are out of the "truth" or free as i like to call it.
When YOU are IN the truth! boy that is a good one! It still baffles me! Hmm! Is that the samething as good things happen to people who stay in the truth, and bad thing happen to people when they leave. That one really scared me and I believed that it was true. Also, I had a friend(144,000) who really thought that God would reward people who made good choices, and punish people who made bad choices! she was a JDUB for many years! I think that is what they thought in Jobs time.
So we were teaching others how not to look for omens and were practicing superstition and did not know it!

So here is what I have learned, If I was dunked to my knees while reading something about Woodrow and remembering that pagans were around before Jesus birth while the baptismal guy said, "In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit" although he forgot to mention JCanon. All Is Well and who cares anyway, because I am covered and saved through Christ death!

Do you remember the person who baptized you? Did they have Holy Spirit? Or did you just line up at an assembly? I met one exJDUB who claimed she could feel holy spirit enter her and a sensation was felt all the way to her toes. People thought she had a loose screw as a JDUB. Could she be right?
Is our modern day baptism out dated? Has it been lowered to nothing more that a pagan ritual because of so many false teachings and the one who is doing the baptismal does not have holy spirit to give! I believe the Holy Spirit in Paul's time was past on. I have more research to do!
I think that everytime someone miss applied God's laws or plans, he no longer would accept it! perhaps I am wrong but that would apply to Christain baptism.

JOIN THE DOTS! I can tell you were raised as a JDUB, it the same way of thinking! Find articles to match your way of thinking ( although you no longer care) Did you look up the scriptures to that article or did you just find it on the net and post it! Once again it is an abuse of scriptures to prove their points! Christmas is pagan and one should stay awary from Idols. It has nothing to do with Idols! The only carved idols I see during Christmas would be the figurines, something free standing! I am sure most of that church you posted members have plenty of carved images in their houses like in the form of birds or a freestanding fish in the bathroom!

Wow WTWizard! I forgot all about that scripture which book? so I can look it up again! I think that is why on the radio they play Christmas songs during December!
I was not allowed to listen to the Christmas songs growing up, now I look forward to hearing them. But it was a couple of years ago that I would still flip the channels thinking they were pagan!
As far as the other replies with various books and encylopedias! They are still comparing Christmas with pagans and that is the style of writing the WTBTS has used for years! Does it make Christmas a pagan holiday! NO, but it does make people think of it as pagan! They did a good thing getting pagans to sing songs about Christ. Although, I wish they would have left some of their pagan stuff out of the celebration. But like another poster, you make it you own. I think I can try to leave the pagan stuff out! Yule stuff.
If angels can rejoice and sing for our new KING than so can Christains and it is not a pagan holiday.
Although I was thinking about getting a nice tree until I saw in Jeramiah and how Jehovah does not like people bringing trees in the house to decorate. I would rather please God than to please myself with a tree! It is part of that desire in me to really want a tree! so I guess I will need to get a live tree for the outside. I do need to read that scripture to see if it applies to modern day Christmas trees!

Page 13, paragraph 3 explain last day prophets! I guess that includes false prophets. Hmm, I need to look this up again do they think they are the locust or the tails going door to door stinging the nations for 42 months. Good job holding on to that Watchtower because that is a crazy one. If you think about it who really is coming out of the abyss! Why would God send his people door to door who come out of the abyss! God people are not from the abyss! See the Revelation It Grand Climax Is At Hand.
They also claim going door to door is marking people to rightousness and if people do not take the WT/AWK they go off to judgement to Jesus! Man With the Secratary Inkhorn. Are they taking the place of Jesus? by judging people to rightousness!
